Just curious... what ever happened to SD Wheeler/DTA??

I haven't heard much about him since PhatDoggy's sticky on StangNet. So what ever happened?

Nothing. He disappeared. I believe he's in Houston.

I heard that SD, after a short stint in a mexican jail, had his surgery performed, and returned home to Texas, under the name of Sally Wheeler. She has since gone on to offer high performance Avon facial products, and is doing quite well.

Just what I heard, nothing confirmed of course.

I had heard something (on Stangnet I think) that he was heading for criminal charges.

I'll tell the story as I know it since I was one of the last people to actually have contact with SD. I ordered a set of heads, and a bullitt intake from SD and after the customary 6 month waiting period and numerous phone calls back and forth I decided it was time to go give SD a visit. So Matt (03trubluGT) and I drove from Dallas to Overton, TX and followed the trail to the address that he had as his shop. LOL you should have seen this place (I have pictures of all of this but not up here at work), then we went to his old house took pics, then on to his new house and he was not home. Walked around for a bit talking to neighbors and taking pics. Decided to go find something to eat then come back. Well an hour later we went back over to SD's house and he just happend to be home. Spoke to him for a little while and both of us agreed that I would give him a week until I would show back up to claim my heads and intake.

Funny story but I called the next day and his wife picked up, and once she figured out it was me that showed up at "her front door" as she put it she got a little pissed. Finally after her hanging up on me 3 times I finally got to speak with SD and made sure everything was still in line.

Well a week had passed and Matt and I drove back out to Overton, got there and this time he is pulling numerous sets of heads out of his car. He had to pull out 10 sets at least. I picked up my set of heads, and intake and also got PhatDoggy's head (nope not heads, SD said there was a problem with the other) so I could ship it to him. Well I got back home and posted some of the story up on Corral and Stangnet.

Then the story with Ken B went down where he came in control of the dtaperformance.com website due to SD not paying his bill or something like that. Well Ken was still waiting for his heads when I went down to Houston for FFW. Well walking around the parking lot guess who I find, and actually it was quite funny. I saw a bullitt intake and some heads sitting out on a bench for sale. So I walk up and look them over, first thought in my mind was SD ported these. Look over and SD is walking out of a mobile home, well damn. I thought I would bring up a few names of people that I knew were still waiting on parts and he couldn't really give me a straight answer. Well then his dad rolls up in his racecar that he was bracket racing and SD and I didn't really get to talk much after that. After FFW Houston I haven't heard anything from SD or of anyone getting parts from SD other than Ken B.

Interesting... I never knew some of that stuff. I had seen that the DTA site had been taken over, but I never knew who was behind it.

My friend Scott (FST FORD on Stangnet) was #7 on the waiting list to get his heads and he got his money back about a year after sending it to SD. The only reason he got it back was because he had payed by credit card and could charge it back.

Thanks for the info. I was just wondering what had happened because PhatDoggy had posted that thread on Stangnet a while back.
