So F body guys say our cars our inferior. I cant help but think the only thing they have on us is power. I mean, we have better rears, better auto trannies, better 6 speeds (no 5 speed in f bod) better interior, better window motors :D, jsut all around.. i think we win. What am i saying, we won cause we are still here.
what are some of the arguments you guys get from f body guys?

I hear this one all the time. Chevy/GM guy says " Ya and it takes a blower on your Cobra just to beat a N/A WS6".
Ford quality and appeal is better than Chevy even though we lack a little power.

I always get crap about an underpowered V8... which, IMO is true. I wish Ford would have put a 5.4L in these things, to keep it closer. I am just now getting into stock LS1 territory with about $2000 in mods.

Actually they have us on power, auto and manual transmissions. Our auto's are nice but in stock form theirs are still better. Manual transmissions are T-56 in the 03 Cobra and the LS1s the 03 Cobras being slightly stronger still same trans. We definitely have them on rear ends, interiors seems to be a draw, seats go to them, visability goes to us, window motors us...if they don't freeze all the time.

My lightly modded 02GT will beat it. I beat LS1s all the time. Never lost to one. :stickpoke
I respect F Bodys, but I still cant get over their looks. I just dont like the appearance, but that is also subjective. The one I can tolerate is the WS6, but then I look at the rear end and it looks like ass. The only LS1 I would consider owning would be a vette. I know F bodys have a stout motor and are quick, but I have to like what I have to drive every day.

   Good one Flo Bee
The only smack I get from F-Body guys is at the timeslip booth. They always seem to assume that my car is supercharged and ask how much boost I am running. It pains them when I pop the hood and it looks completly stock.

At least our motors are somewhat accessible. Ever look under the hood of those GM's, the motor is so damn far into the firewall, I would hate to have to do anything to them.

try doing a tune up on an lt1:mad: :hammer: :chairshot

I have had both
99 Z-28 was my last car. I couldnt keep it in one piece to save my life. I had a NX 150 shot on it, it would haul ass. Just the basic bolt on's. Exhaust, Lid, ls1edit, and Ram air. It still wasnt as quick as my 03 was.
Going from an Z-28 to this 03 is like a pinto to lexus. The car handles better, bang for buck is insane, rearend isnt as bad as most say,or should I say halfshafts. Seats are awesome, not much more I can say

Forget a tune up, you think a long tube install is hard on a GT, just do one on a LS1.
Cam installs are simple on an LS1, compared to the 100 things you have to take off just to get to the cams on a GT.

At least you do not have to pull the radiator to install cams on a GT.

Hey a radiator is simple, a hose and 4 bolt....if your good you don't even have to drain it.
GT - Harmonic balancer, power steering pump, alternator, timing chain cover, timing chains, timing chain tensioner, valve covers, etc.
I'd do a cam swap on an LS1 anyday.

I dont get to many arguements .Most dont hang around after getting a taste of my stang.;).
I got a buddy at work that has done a cam swap to his 00 t\a .400rwhp.
He likes his hp but hates the interior compairing mine and his.
Mine rides better, but i give up a little on handling compaired to him.
I almost have him talked in a mustang. He is tired of losing to one:).

I honestly don't have a side. The power in the LS1's stock is impressive but I really don't like the interior other than the seats. I am a fan of any sports car. Both the Mustang and LS1 have there flaws, but both of them are american sports cars, and both are pretty awesome cars. I own a GT and have replaced the heads, intake, cams, installed 6 sets of longtube headers on my GT as well as others and they aren't the most friendly cars to work on, at least not compared to the fox body mustangs I grew up working on.
Now then the LS1 isn't the greatest platform to be doing your own work on but pretty much anything motor related other than header installs is a little easier. I know your going to say the back half of the motor is under the dash, but with the right tools and a little patience its not that bad.
Overall I've always loved mustangs and always will, but the LS1's aren't as bad as some of you make them out to be.
Just remember LS1's, Mustangs, and Vipers are all a dieing breed, and they are all American sports cars, we should support all off them before the Mustang and Viper go the way of the T/A and Camaro.
