Hopefully SCT or someone can educate me about this. The SVT focus has a little problem with the MAF location, or so all the evidence thus far is supporting that theory. SCT said they could turn the MAF off up to 3K RPM's (where the problem of the MAF reading cam pulses seems to happen), and at that the amount of fuel supplied would depend on the VE at each point.

My question is this, is the VE at each RPM a calculated value and ever changing or is it a static value (or calculated off static values)? The reason why is this.. I have to get rid of this rich condition at 2-3K RPM's. But moving the maf further from the TB is not a really valid option without working up some sort of Ghetto intake (which I don't want to do).

But I also plan on putting pretty agressive cams in the car, which will obviously alter the VE of the engine. I'm wondering if turning off the maf and doing nothing else will most likely end up in a lean condition at those RPM's or with the engine calculate a new VE and supply fuel accordingly??

Are you running the stock intake right now Bela? Or is it an AEM?

No I'm running the focus-sport cool flo. I had the AEM and that does move the maf a bit plus it puts it behind a pretty big bend, and this problem doesn't really exist with that intake. But with the cool flo-my car sputters at light to medium throttle from 2-3K.

And when FocusSport dyno'd it, they said it was really rich in that range.
