Got a ????

My friend installed a UPR Kmember w/ coiloverson his car. He got the 14" 175#springs. Everything seems to be in place however the damn thing bottoms out so bad. He is running the stock struts and it does have 32k miles. I think it maybe the struts are toast. But he noticed this bottom out the minute he installed the kmember. Can you guys help with anything?

Yeah, wasted struts. I imagine they are not valved anywhere clsoe to what a coil over would use.

I'll agree, if you have the car raised to around 26-27" from ground to fenderwell and it bottoms out, I'd say the Struts are shot too.

With 14"175# springs the car is going to lower about 3" from stock and that is out of range of the stock strut. I know on my truck when I dropped it 4" it blew out all four shocks within 50 miles. That what it sounds like happened here.

looks like its time for you buddy to get some Fox spec struts. they are shorter in travel so it wont bottom out when you use them in a lowered '99+ car.

'99+ spec struts are nearly bottomed out when a car is lowered as little as 1.5".
