Anyone on this list -- WHO IS NOT ALREADY A MEMBER OF V8SHO.com -- Do you KNOW of anyone who has had a camshaft related engine failure on a 96 thru 99 Taurus SHO?
I'd really like to know. I'm looking for EVERYBODY who has NOT been helped by V8SHO and added to the owners' list.
I'd also be interested in knowing if the 4.6 - especially the DOHC - has ever spun a cam drive sprocket to anyone's knowledge.

I've never heard of a 4.6 having that problem.

1992 TownCar (4.6 SOHC) "snapped a camshaft" in 1994 with ~30,000 miles on the ticker. At the time it went into the dealership under warranty, there were about six sitting there with the same failure.
I was too young to know anything about that at the time, though. So I didn't ask a lot of questions. Ford warrantied it with a brand new motor... not a reman.

Flo Bee-
I would be very interested to know exactly what "Snapped".
I know you didn't ask many questions.
I can't tell you how many people i know with grenaded 3.4's who have been told "You are the only person this has happened to!" by Furd.
If those 4.6 cams were spinning sprockets in 1992 and Ford continued with a bad idea on an even Higher revving engine - 3.4's redline at 7 grand - then this info could help a lot of people recover HUGE medical bills on their motors.
Anybody have 4.6 repair bills with specifics written on them?

My dad keeps everything. I'll have him look it up.
