Good to see the site expanding.:thumb:
Hey, just what kind of HP, and 1/4 times are these cars capable of stock?? Just curious. It is a Yamaha engine right?:dontknow:

Stock not sure but I have seen a few dyno charts with minor bolt ons be 195 at the wheels. They are rated 235 at the crank. 1/4 times stock is about mid 15's depending on the driver. There has been a few guys on a dry shot down in the 13's and Carter has a Vortech on his. Yes it is a Yamaha well the heads and intake are the block is a Cosworth design Ford built mill. There was only 19,580 V8 SHO's made from 1996-1999. In 1996 there was only 201 of the Rose Mist (color) made. Hopefully in the next few days there will be more of the guys on here that will be able to go a little farther in detail on them.

Well I think you nailed the details for the most part Chuck. Glad to see more forums out there for us. Hopefully others will catch on.

What's next? 3.9L forum?
Welcome aboard with the new forum. I can't say I know much at all about SHO's, so they must be pretty reliable since I don't see 'em come in the shop much over @ Tommy's.

Well with the cam issue I wouldn't say that www.v8sho.com . I think for the most part more people are afraid of them than to actually try to work on them. 3.9L whats that :) there is only one place that I know of (website above) that has anything about them and they do their talking through an email list. I just wanted to get more people aware of the car. It is a great car factory speed limiter don't kick in till 144 mph and drives like a dream and if you got kids boom there ya go 4 doors.

Hey Chuck, yes I am on the v8sho mailing list, I was lucky enough to find that site as the guys on that list saved me a trip to the dealer. As just recently I lost my secondaries; but now they are wired open for the mean time, and man it feels alot different.

To my suprise as well, the motor and the plastic wheel were fine. But the cable frayed and snapped inside the box. I replaced the cable with a 22awg wire and it worked for a few days but when I crimped on a stud on the end my dumb a#$ crimped it around the insulation in stead of the actual wire. I would correct my mistake but it is too cold outside and no garage. I new one would be faster and better. But I will wait for the BBBs then do it all.

I am interested in the '96+ SHO's, and have been since they came out. I didn't realize what little is out there for them. www.V8SHO.com is fairly informative, but very hard to read. This forum is just what the enthusiasts need. I don't know that I myself will ever own one, but I'll do my best to get one for my wife (assuming I can find one...).
I hope the word gets out! Anyone got pics or good tech?

You are right it is kinda hard to read. As far as tech let me know what you want to know and I will do all I can to help you. Just go to ebay or autotrader and you can find one be sure to go to the advanced search so you can pick how many cylinders, and it will just bring up the SHO. Yes ther is very little out there for them but a few people are trying to correct that.

For the time being I work at John Markel Ford/BMW in Omaha, NE. We have one on the lot for 8995. I don't remember the year but I know it is pretty slick. I won't be buying it but if anyone is interested I could get details on it. Just PM me.

You can also check on shoclub.com click on classifieds and choose a year. They have the most I've seen in one place. As far as changing oil in that weather, that is insane!! I am originally from Texas so this weather is cold enough for me. If anyone is intrested in mod for the sho check out shofastperformance.com lots of goodies!
