Which should I get the flasher or chip? I want the racer version. I'm guessing I should order the flasher. Is there anything else I need to go with the flasher to make it work?

Have the best of both worlds, buy the chip-flasher now, and buy the ecu flasher later. Especially if you'd like support for more than one car. It will buy you the most flexibility for sure!

You need any kind of computer, but it doesn't have to be a laptop.
You upload the calibration in your house, at work, anywhere while your connected to a computer. Then later on you just take the unit right to your car, and flash the pcm, no need for a pc in the car. (unless you plan to datalog when that option is available at a later date, unless they are using onboard memory??!)
