What year did the F series get modular motors? I'll change the title and description.

F-150 got modular power in '97,and the superduty trucks(F250-350) got modulars in '99.

Ah, 4.9L's (300 inline Six) are the best engine for ever put in a truck (durability wise anyhow) Pretty easy to turbo charge the Fuel injected ones also........

Besides my t-bird I also have a 97 4.2 f-150 regular cab, two wheel drive, short box. I have been focusing on modding my 3.8 t-bird so much I have not done much to my truck. I am looking forward to learning some new stuff for modding my truck as well. And no I do not have a V6 fetish haha!

So my 87 351 4bbl Bronco is just out of the question eh?

Not necessarily Dan, maybe if you get that bronco using an EEC-V i'm sure we could consider it a modular motor then! lol

hmm.... that could be the next project for my dads 94 F-350 ..... a J-Tuned 460.... ohhh the possibilities....

I would love to put a fuel inj manifold etc on the Bronco, and run it with an EECIV or EECV. I think I'd have a lot fewer concerns with passing emmisions like that for sure! I have to put the Bronco on the rollers this month (it really expired last month) and this is the first time it will have ever been sniffed - it has always seemed to run rich, so I fully expect to fail the sniffer and have an expensive bill to make it legal. It may well be worth while to convert it. Hmmmm.

Plenty of room to work too, bad thing is my mom wants him to get rid of it only has 180k on it an its a 90.

My Bronco only has about 15k on the longblock. It's ugly on the outside (Ford truck paint disease) but it mostly all works (Eddie Bauer edition). It's a keeper.

I have an EEC-V that I plan on putting in a 75 EFI Chevy Blazer over winter, so I am sure you wouldn't have any problems adapting it to your Bronco. The trick is to get an EEC and harness from an explorer, their eecs are under the hood and really easy to work with.

Yeah know bout that paint diasase truck was a brugrandy now its well its red of some shade. A good wash, wax and polish would help alot thought, if dont strip the paint right off

My Bronco is a 83' with a 300-6 currently (making 240hp/330tq) but I'm dropping a Slightly warmed 351W 4bbl in it this summer that I bought for 400$ (4ft of water and a ripped air cleaner = 2 bend rods in the Inline Six) I just hope this 351 Has the same amount of power my Inline Six had, My 85' bronco I had with the 351 HO couldn't keep up to my Built I-6, but this engine has a Edelbrock preformer intake, 600cfm 4bbl edelbrock, and a Towing cam (with 20,000 miles on a rebuild).

F-450 and F-550's come standard with a 5.4L which is a modular engine
