View Full Version : Cylinder Numbering on the 5.4

Friend of mine has a misfiring #8 Cylinder on his 5.4 motor and I'd like to make sure which that is before working on it.

its the same as the 4.6....#8 is the last cylinder on the driver's side, closest to the fire wall...........

one other note: Ford has a problem wth a coolant hose going to the heater core leaking coolant on the #4 COP, thus shorting out the plug & coil, this cyl is #4 pass side all the way in the back up against the fire wall.

I'll have to check it out either this afternoon or tomorrow morning because the misfiring came after a flood in our area and my friend had to drive through it. Was fine that day, but next day it started to surge and threw the code. If it's the coil then I might need some assistance, Randy. :-) Just in case, can you pull up the pricing on the coil for a 5.4 ?
