View Full Version : Latest Update
Sorry to say it folks, but the flasher version has been delayed. This is for a good reason, and for the best. We don't want a product out there that's not 100%.
The good new is...we will have some chip versions to ship by mid to late this month:) It will be the 4 bank chip.
Here's how things will proceed:
On Monday, I will put a signup page up. You will fill out a form with your contact information, info on you car and whether you want the flasher or chip version. I will NOT be taking credit cards. When the units are ready to ship, I will use this list, in the order that the names were received, to determine who gets in on this first. You will be contacted and have a few days to respond, if you don't, I'l move to the next in line on the list.
This form will be posted by Monday morning and I will post a link to it in this forum.

Thanks for the update Ken.
It works out for me since I wanted the chip version anyway.:headbang:
Sorry for all who wanted the flasher version. :(
I guess I get to be one of the guinne pigs afterall.
How much info do we have gather for monday? Will SCT be using this info to create a base tune? Or will the base tune be based on information gathered down the road once you contact us? I haven't decided 100% on which MAF I will be running. But if I need to, I can make a decision by Monday.

Some good news for you (and bad for others). Their won't be any support for the SVT focus at first. They are working hard on that, but it won't be ready right away. Other Foci are supported.
I just need general stuff on Monday, when the time comes we will collect detailed info.

Aaaaarrggghhh.... no support for the SVT focus yet! So is it a problem with the "flasher" or a problem with just the "flasher for the SVT" or are there independant problems for both.

It's an issue with the SVT itself. It does not use the EEC, correct? I'm not really informed, but I believe it has to do with the computer itself. It will happen, it will just be a little later.

I assume you wanted to say that they use SVT version of EEC.

No, I think it might be a PowerPC EEC. Ford is going to PowerPC EEC's in newer models.

FWIW, maybe next time get a little more creative. I know who you are and your tuning background.

Jerry was out here on tue and there was a problem with a SVTF they flashed... Somehow, due to the customer having a very hardcore stereo system, power was lost when flashing, which caused corruption to the PCM.
One more reason to go with the chip instead of flasher. Much safer and possibility to have multiple programs.

I believe this to be correct.

The battery dying was Jerry's fault? I know that's not exactly what you said but it comes across that way.
I'm confused with the demo software? The demo can be downloaded. As for buying on the spot, I didn't think the software packages were available yet.

Whoa, whats up with editing my post?
I gave an explanation as to why the focus piece has been delayed. It was all factual data, not made up. It seems the pcm is very sensitive to power loss, more so when flashing. As friend of ours tried to fix it for free at his dealership and instead your acting like im the bad guy here.
BTW. Jerry offered to show me this software first hand in another thread... The demo cant do what real live programming can. Why the raw treatment? That day was a total waste of our time, which could of been used productively for something else.

1) What did Jerry say when you asked him to see it when you arrived?
2) You said you were ready to buy the gold package even though you haven't seen it? That would be tough, since you can't buy a gold package
3) Even if you could, this is not the place to be discussing it. This is a support forum for the Racer packages, not the dealer packages.
4) Your mention of another company's tuning software in combination with your background obviously had ulterior motives. If you would like to discuss other software, please feel free to start a new thread in the appropriate tech section. This section is for SCT software only.

First off it was not Jerry that had the issue flashing the SVT Focus it was Chris. This is important. We think there is an issue with Chris's hardware and we are looking into this.
Jerry flashed an SVT Focus over 60 times at Vortech the weekend before without an issue. Chris also had an issue once, with the same hardware, flashing a 6.0L Diesel which is a similar processor. We are also taking care of this customer as well due to his inconviencence.
In all honesty we don't know why the PCM died, but this will make us delay the release of this until we test it further, for the SVT Focus module.
All PCM's are senstitive to power loss during flashing. The problem is an EEC takes about 70 seconds to flash, not a lot of time for something to happen. An SVT Focus takes about 9 minutes. Alot more exposure to having problems. When this happens, the EEC is basically cleared and things like the fan and fuel pump are running. This is a problem and needs a battery charger attached when you are doing this.
I have no problem with anyone knowing about the PCM problem. It's a real problem that we must look into. Good news/bad news is it's only this model car, for now.
It is very important that you choose which package you want as you will be contacted according to these choices. Racer/Pro Racer and Flash/Chip are the 2 most important things on the form.

Mr. Mofo,
I do want to apologize for not having a chance to talk to you. As you know we lost the Focus about the time you got there and we tried hard to bring the PCM back to life.
I did tell you I'd demo you the software and I didn't. If you want, I will make a special demo version of the software for you, that has all the stuff for the Lightning like you would get. If you PM me your email address I'll tell you how to get it (although I have to make it first). If you have questions then I'll give you my phone number and we can go over it.
I am sorry. (I also had a bad fish experience about that time where I have this fish alergy and by 4-5 pm my tounge swelled up to the point I couldn't even talk. Nothing 4 Benedryl and some sleep wouldn't fix).

So the flasher version is on hold (at least for the SVT focus).. and you hope to ship the chip versions by sometime next week.
Do you have "any" idea of when the flasher module will be ready? Heck, I'd be willing to pay full price for just the software, and you can ship me the flasher unit when you have everything worked out. I've just been sitting on these cams and ported head for months now... Anyways, I do hope your able to resolve your Flasher issues soon!!!
