Picked this up today. Runs decent but not like the Bird. I can probably fix that. So all my Fords are mod powered now.

mmmm shiny... definatly wouldn 't mind one of those to play with. Our local dealer doesn't get them. They had one of the Harley trim Lightnings in, some 19 year old financed it, and managed to get to know a downtown stoplight pole rather intimately less than a week later

You will love it kris...
They don't take much to run real quick..
Ive got a filter, chip and 4# pulley on mine and it runs mid 12's. (With a 1.85 60')
Made 400hp at the wheels and 500ft-lbs of torque...
Fun fun!

i was banned from that site as well because they are stupid monkeys over there. they banned me because told the one moderator that he was full of $hit when he said he went a 10.37 at 137 mph on a stock 4.6 truck with a stock 5spd trans with stock tires with just a ATI blower.

Don't feel bad, when I questioned their "official" chip supplier that his 30-40 HP gains on 4.6L trucks was BS, I was banned so fast I hardly had time to press send.
I'm with Dan, avoid the site, idiots, just idiots...

I will agree that sometimes things get a little ridiculous over there, however there *are* some people there that know what they are talking about...
You just have to weed through a ton of BS to get to it...

Sweet ride, I've been looking at those lately and really Like the True Blue color. Problem is the closest SVT dealer is about 200miles away. They stil had a black 2001 on the lot and wanted $31,999 and wouldn't budge on the price

There is a Black 01 with 11k miles on it on ebay right now with a buy it now for $26k. Seems like there is quite a lot of low mile trucks for sale and that is the cheapest I've seen by far.

"I DO race the truck"
Whats it run stock kris? Just curious if you were able to nurse some of those LOW 13 second times some of the other people have gotten out of those things stock...
Something I never came close to stock

Dale, that was a reference to the Dale Jarrett commercials. I haven't been to the track yet, we have plans to go in 2 weeks. What I'd like to try to do for starters is get it in the 12s with the stock pulleys still on it. So I'll be doing stuff like the fan, a good calibration in the EEC, caltracs, etc. I do run at a very well prepared track, so things should work out OK.

Ahh.. Yanno... Now that you say that, Thats hilarious
12's without extra boost should be possible... Especially with the 02's, which are putting down some real impressive numbers...
I could never do that out here, our tracks & gas are horrible.. I opted to take the easy way out and add more boost.
Are you going to go with the Elec. Fan # that I posted, or did the GM/CV fan end up being a direct bolt on? If so, I think Im going to go that route next... Maybe a single bore TB...
Ive heard the caltracs are REAL noisey (unless you get the antirattle kit from LFP, or make your own) I've got the truck-traks, which are way overpriced, but I know the guy who makes them so what the hell... I know lakewood makes a set of slappers for like $100, but they are el-cheapo..
Just sharing the knowledge I have raped from other people reading the various boards around

I'm curious. If the electric fan is such a popular mod, why hasn't Ford started putting them on at the factory? This is usually one of the first things I do on any older, front-engine, rear-drive vehicle I'm working on. Seems odd that a newer performance vehicle wouldn't have it as standard.

Dale, I know aboiut the caltracs noise. LFP is here in TX, and I'm getting the anti rattle stuff from them.
I don't have it yet, but it's the CV fan I'll be using, and the EEC will be controlling it, not some add on crap using a sensor threaded into the side of the block like JDM.
You couldn't have gotten too much knowledge from the Lightning boards. The intelligence level on them is very close to that of TCCoA. That and they are a bunch of lemmings that just buy whatever tuner X puts out at any price and think it's the best in the world whether it is or not, much like Geno's lemmings.

I once posted on the lightning board about driveline loss. They were all telling me that stock 99-up lightnings only lost a total of 11% through the whole driveline

I'm surprised they didn't say driveline loss was like 40% to inflate their flywheel hp!

Dale the caltracs came in today, now I just need to find time to install them. They are something you don't see very often any more, actual well constructed parts. All of the welds are extremely high quality. Just need to get them on and play with the adjustments at the track to see what my truck likes. Next wednesday should be the first time on the track.
