Hello, I have a 96gt with H&R sport springs on it with the factory shocks/struts and the ride is finally starting to piss me off. I want to either get the Bullit shocks or the Mach 1's. I want the best ride, could care less about the performance right now.

I agree.. either way they are Tokico Premium struts and shocks. I have them on my car right now and they are a good replacement on lowerd cars on a budget.

I am not so sure they are the same. My Bullitt is lower than a Mach.

Bullitt specs;
Front Suspension
Springs 600 lb/in. linear
(lowers car 3/4") 450 lb/in. linear
Struts 35 mm piston,
custom valved struts 32 mm piston

Rear Suspension
Springs 250 lb/in. linear (lowers car 3/4") 210 lb/in. linear
Shocks 30 mm piston, custom valved shocks 30 mm piston

well, asper FoMoCo: bullitt shocks/struts are different than the Mach 1 & Cobra. they are Tokico in the front and Bilstine in the rear.

I have the Mach 1s with my MRT springs. They're cheap and I think do the job. :headbang:

Wow, lots of misinformatin floating around on this post . . .

The Bullitt and Mach 1 shocks/struts are all made by Tokico. The shock design is similar to their HP (Blues), but with valving specified by Ford. Bullitts are slightly different from Mach 1's in order to compensate for the different weight distribution and CG between the cars . . . (Al) block and 4V heads = higher front CG than (Fe) block and 2V heads.

03 Cobra and Cobra R uses Bilstien front and rear.

I have installed Mach1 and Bullitt shocks neither are Bilsteins heck they even say Tokico on them, I have bilsteins on my car. You can defiantly tell the difference.

no, not realy, the replacement shocks as per Ford cataloging is bilsteins in the rear on mach 1's and cobras(2R3Z-18125-AA) and they are bilsteins, yes mach 1 have tokico from the factory but show Bilsteins as a upgrade replacement. sorry for the confussion but no misinformation here.

The catalog lists the same part number for Mach 1 and Cobra???? If so, I think we can all agree that that’s obviously not accurate. Its possible that FoMoCo lists some 2001 Cobra or other Bilstien shock as a replacement upgrade for Mach 1, but Bullitt and Mach 1 shocks from the factory are Tokico. And if you order "Bullitt" or "Mach 1" shocks, you will get Tokico, not Bilstein.

I never said Fords cataloging was 100% accurate, they do list different rear shocks for hdtp & verts and mach 1's and at the same time they group them all in one parts list. also they can be used as an upgrade (bilsteins). the mach 1 and bullit shocks & struts arer made by tokico but carry different part # since the valving is different between the 2.
