I am moving the discussion to this thread, so it has the correct topic.

a 91 Base 5.0 bird should have forged pistons
Well, when I had a 91 sport I checked into it, and my sport did, so I would imagine that all 91 5.0's have forged pistons.

How do you know if your 91 base is a sport? First look at the interior. Do you have cloth interior, and if so does it look diffrent than all the other years of cloth interior? Also do you have the trim stripe across the side moldings?

I learned that the "Sport" trunk badge was only an option on the sport package, so there are some sports running around that didn't say sport.

Here are three pics of my sport interior. Note the carbon fiber dash trim (instead of wood), the "premuim cloth seats", and the instrument cluster. You can also look at the exterior trim stripe, and see if the molding has a stripe inside it.

Ignore the LX steering wheel. I put that on because I didn't like the one that came with the sport.

hmm, lonnie could probably also give insight on this. Sandy Block also would be able to help.

When I ran my vin, it was supposedly a base model too. But I did have the correct trunk badging, and all of the other traits that I heard sports were supposed to have.

That looks just like my interior. I will have to get something to measure the sway bars with now. If those come up as the sport size also then I have an LX labled Sport or an LX with a bunch of Sport parts on it.
