Ok, so Torrie is answering e-mail today! He and I have had an exchange as I work towards this.

He's overnighting me a new strut. To get ahead, I took the strut off this afternoon and it's certainly leaking....

However, in the process i broke the ball stud that holds the lower end of the height sensor. I'm not sure yet how I am going to replace that... Have another e-mail in to Torrie to see if I can get one.

On a side now, Woodie Maples LOD Faq on getting them off is right on, down to recommending a breaker bar for the bottom. I spent 20 minutes working it with an 8" 3/8" ratchet, then 20 minutes going to the hardware store to buy an 18" 1/2" breaker bar, and about 30 seconds getting the bolt off after that.....

I was wondering why people thought it was so hard to remove that bolt. 30 seconds with a breaker bar and you've made short work of that baby!

Ha Kale! Just because you have done it 75 times....

Anyway, I finally got my strut this afternoon (Thanks to Big Scott and Torrie for riding it with UPS for me) and put it in.

It was darn easy on the way back in, and the car rides WAY better now - I think that strut had failed, too, because there was a lot of oil on the body and on the bag that is not on the other side....

Whew!
