Under boost 12psi + it was starting to miss fire/denotate I believe last night on the way to st. louis. Probably shitty gas. My question is.. shouldnt the knock sensor pull timing and prevent this? Also seemed to have less power than usual. I guess my knock sensor could be dead... 109k on the clock. What do you guys think?

I think you basically answered your own question...
Are you running non-extended tip plugs?

Update:
Dave, the plugs are autolite 2543 Coppers. Is there a colder plug available or a better plug?
thanks
Chris
p.s. they do have 15k miles on them.. might need changed too
Non extended plugs..... hmmm I dont know. They are copper plugs.. 2 heat ranges colder. Autolite something.. will get a part # tommorow.

Sorry for the non-response. It's possible the standard plugs are beginning to widen their gap also. That would explain a misfire. If I recall, those plugs you listed are only 1 range colder than stock. There isn't a 2 heat range colder plug available in the stock configuration. The APP764's are also one range colder, but since the plug doesn't protrude so far into the chamber, it is less likely to attract as much carbon, and will run even cooler than it's heat range suggests.
