Make sure your Traction Control is off before you launch if you have a nitrous system installed and armed!!
I have a device from PEP that defaults my traction control to off upon starting the engine, so I don't have to worry about it, plus you will notice its on in the burnout box.
But, if you ever cut your engine after burn out box and restart, then MAKE SURE you traction control is off before you launch.
I am not positive it would damage the engine, but I am fairly sure I don't want to do any testing to find out. Leaning out an engine at WOT is not a good idea.
Just a thought.

Joe, that is a great suggestion, My car is an early 99 model that didn't come with Traction Control, But I'm sure people have done it by mistake .

now thats interesting  I have it. my build date is 06/99. I have my ABS sensors disconnected at the rear becuase I had my switch fail in "on" position during WFC6 wild street. Trying to launch with traction control on is not a good site.

You do want to turn traction control off because our cars cut fuel and not spark. This causes a lean condition that can lead to detonation/engine damage.

Yep, I should have specifically pointed out that the traction control pulls fuel when it sees the rear tires turning faster than the front ones.
The rev limiter problem is why I always tell people they HAVE to have an RPM window switch, wet or dry.
Thanks for the clarifications/additions.

Here is a link to one device that will automatically turn traction control off.

There may be others. This one works.
