Well I just got back from the track, I was shooting for a 13 but the best I got was a 14.089:mad:
I could have hit it easily if I could have ditched my spare, and my safety supplies I had in the trunk but I didn't see anyone I knew at the track and didn't want to trust leaving it setting...
so here it is.....
I'm not so much dissapointed in the time as I am this, the Density Altitude was better this time around than last time I went.
The first run shown was my best from last time.... Why did it correct out faster when I had a better run this time?

Something else, on my mph you will see they are around 97, the first run was with the stock MAF,timing adjuster at 10 and my chip installed (first time I was at the track, not the same night as the next runs), the next 2 runs are running my C&L and my timing adjuster set at 14 degrees, and no chip installed the last three,I retarted the timing to 10 degrees and put in my chip (C&L still installed) and my MPH Jumped up to 98 but I still could'nt get any faster...
So is the chip helping or hurting you think?

I've got in car video of the runs I'll host them up tomorrow......
I'm just really dissapointed.....
I'm going to weigh the stuff in my trunk just to see how much weight I was carrying also I still had the spare and all....
The reason I removed my chip before was because my plugs were kinda white when I checked them so I figured it was making my car too lean with the C&L....
If it is making my car to lean would I still see an increase in mph? or if it was past lean would it decrease mph?
(I guess I'm asking, if you keep leaning out a car will the MPH keep increasing until the engine blows?)
All the guys at the track says thats great for the track because of the altitude, I raced a 98 Cobra with 4.10s and slicks and he was only .009 faster than me on one run, then the next time we ran he had a 14.6 something to my 14.2.......
Track altitude is 1475, Density altitude was from 2027ft when we got there to 1537 when we left.....

something else...... compare run 1 and 3 and 5
run 1 my trap was 97.650 in a density altitude of 3151ft
Mods, stock MAF, timing at 10, and chip installed
run 3 my trap was 97.730 in a density altitude of 1816ft
Mods, C&L, Timing at 14, and chip removed
run 5 my trap was 98.820 in a density altitude of 1531ft
mods, C&L, Timing at 10, and chip installed
Runs 3 and 5 were on the same night, run 1 was on my first track visit....
Using this info would it be safe to assume that if I had my mods setup as in run1 that I would have trapped faster in teh better air so therefore that combo makes the most power?
(I was about to swap them out to that combo and make a run to see but the damned track closed early, my entire purpose for going was to see which combo gave me the most mph and I got to try 2 of the 3 combos)
Any and all help is appreciated, sorry about rambling, I guess I'm just venting....

Run1
me / cobra
r/t - .610 / .190
60' - 2.282 / 2.107
330 - 6.135 / 6.043
1/8 - 9.280@78.63 / 9.228@77.49
1000' - 11.971 / 11.961
1/4 - 14.257@98.82 / 14.266@99.70
Run2
Me / Cobra
r/t - 1.412 / -.106 (redlighted :) )
60' - 2.309 / 2.323
330 - 6.166 / 6.358

Those 60's are horrible and killing your ET. Not sure what your launching at but I would say launch at around 1500 (street Tires) and just ride the clutch out then just hammer it. You should be cutting 2.0-2.1 at the most 60' times. You have a 13 sec. car you just need to practice a little on the launch.

why is your timing adjuster set at 10?

Seems pretty simple to me the car just isn't running the same. The problem you are going to have is you changed too many things in visit to the track. There is no way to know what is the source of your problem. This is why I generally only change one major thing at a time so I can adjust to the changes before moving on to the next item. The C&L could be your issue the chip could be your issue or the combination of both could be doing it.

because he was running a chip and the chip adds timing within itself...this requires stock base timing...which is 10 degrees

I know, thats why I went to the track, I was going to try each combination and see which gave me the highest MPH hence that is what would be the best combo, correct?
Only problem was I didn't get to try the last combo because the track closed earlier than we expected..
I am not consisitent enough to go by times, thats why I was going by mph, however at the end my last 3 runs were pretty consistent...
I guess the only way to tell it go for a dyno..... the track is only open 2 more days and I can't go either time.....

Just like bill said, I purchased all these parts and put them on without ever going to the track or testing each one individually...
I originally had the Timing adjuster, then I got the C&L, then I got the chip without dynoing each one.....
Then I raced someone that I had raced before and got killed, when before racing them I would beat them no problem....
So now I'm trying to find out what it is thats hindering my car...
once I do if I find out that the car performs better with the chip then yes I will sell the timing adjuster....

I do need practice on the launch, however with my clutch chatter it makes riding it out hard... I was able to one the second run and got the 2.1 60ft... but after the clutch heated up it chattered severly the rest of the night.....
This was a sorta last ditch effort of the season to go and see what combo worked best, I was mainly looking at MPH than anything else...:usa:

I was at the local track last night and saw a few 99+ GTs running mid 14s in 65 degree weather and no humidity. There is no shame in those times. Just keep practicing and put that car on a diet and you'll see 13s in a hurry bro.

I once read somewhere that the Steeda Timing adjuster is actually off by 1 negative degree. Could it be setting his timing at 9 degrees and then the chip is getting messed up :dontknow: I'm just guessing... hopefully the dyno will tell you what is going on!

anyone want to give me some feedback on my driving/shifting?
I know my launch's suck... But what about the rpms I'm shifting at?
Should I be shifting sooner or am I about right?
Also if you look at my shift knob in video one when I goto pull forward at the very beginning you can see the chatter I've posted about having, it shakes the shifter pretty good.....
if u have lots of wheelspin on the 1-2 shift shift a little lower in the rpms, if not shift at 6k, powershift every gear change and when you launch bring the rpms to 2500 or so and feel your way out of it, when u think it is going to hook stomp on it...
thats the way i do it and pull a consistent 2.0 on stock tires....stil working on a 1.9X tho...

I do power shift and i do have to much wheelspin on the 1-2, before each run I kept telling my self to go into 2nd easy but when I got to the lights I got so pumped I just went full blast :)
I just need more practice.....

man it is all in the first 60' just remember you cant make up what you lose at the line!!! you should pull 1.90s-2.0s with practice and good street tires, 1.70s-1.80s with good slicks. I pull 1.80s with my non-pi car so I know you can!!

1.7 1.8 are not great for slicks in a ge with 3.73 rears he should see mid to high 1.6's just to be off topic but yeah your 60 is killing you, get it down to atleast a 2.0x launch then go from there.
