View Full Version : Wouldn't SCT leave all tuners without their jobs?

-Just wondering what happen to that huge army of tuners all across the country if SCT software is really what it's advertised.
Who will need them if "13 years old girl can do supercharged car tuning" anyway? I really want to hear their opinion if there is any on this board.
-And what is Ford's position on giving away to public things that were corporate secret for many years? I've heard Mike Wesley had some problems with that before.
-Is there any legal emission issues related with tampering with OBD? They scan OBD during emission test now, can they detect that there were some changes? And even if they can't are these modification technically emission legal? I.e. do you have CARB on your package?
Thanks in advance.
Not everyone is interested in tuning their own car. The SCT package will also be available to tuners. So when you go to your local shop they will be using SCT instead of the "other" software.

I agree, not everyone is going to want to tune their own cars. I've done a lot of 400+ and 500+ RWHP cars that the owners are scared to even watch the dyno pull much less control the tuning.
I think it's a great software package, and for the right people a wonderful tool.

Its what keeps me in business. Not everyone wants to build their own computer or design a enterprise level network.

a focus, yes easy. I don't think you could break that even if you tried. There are some setups that will be more difficult and less forgiving with timing. An example would be a turbo mustang or a supercharger setup that is completley custom.

Although my car is stock.. this will be for a turbo setup later on.. and the timing is my main concern..
Even if i know it'll work.. I don't want it to run like s*** you know.. I want the stock feeling like everyone else hehe :-P
