Posted this up over on the BON board.
Finally had some extra time of the weekend and made a set of CF brake cooling ducts which I had some people inquiring about.
Here's that pic. Tell me what you guys think. This is just what I came up with last night. The unit has 3 layers of CF on it and weighs probably about 3oz.
If you see something you don't like on the design or something else I need to include please post your opinions.

here's a pic of our current aluminum unit. The unit installs the same as this one.

:thumb: but if you could angle the pipe slightly forward and cut the end of it at an angle (the part that is attaching to the plate) you would get a little more surface area being blown on and probably a little better cooling....

It is angled but might be tuff from the photo to tell. I went through the same line of questioning over on the corral.
A good shot with the rotor on is what I need. So the adjustiment angle can be seen.

Are you the owner of Mirage Motorsports or are you just using theirs as a template?
Wondering because I tried to refer a few people to MM but the site was (is) down for a long time....

What process did you use to make the carbon fiber one? What grade of resin did you use for it?

Ya I think MM is long gone. Their website has been done for awhile and my contact numbers don't seem to work.
Currently using the same setup. Ducting conencts to the Cobra front bezel. Were going to have a new lower pickup unit after the year that mounts underneth the front bumper and pickes up air from the ground.
Right now were using vacuum bagging, 3 layer thick with 2X2 and High temp Resin

Cool, let me know when you're done - I know a few people that were looking for units.
Any plans to make pickups to mount to one of the two holes in a Saleen bumper???? :)

Sorry I haven't had seen or heard of enough saleen owners that wanted such an item to try and make a version for them.

Looks like I'll be fabricating :)

I had a saleen bumper back in the day but non now to really mock anything up if I wanted. Of course I'm sure it would be hard to get my hands on one to get measurements.

We'll just fab something out of aluminum....when someone makes something of good quality, it's just easier/better to buy rather than fab...was hoping to get lucky :)

anyway to the the intakes to right up the lower back of the radiator?
If the pickup is picking up from the ground (like the march ram air setup) it could get alot of debris hitting your rotors.....

We plan on implementing a screening system into that to limit debris. Your just as lickely to get tire rubber and other such stuff from the front bezels as well.
