F350 Turbo Deisel Chip

Guy at work wants to buy a chip off Dennis. He was wondering if there is a significant difference with chipping a 7.3 turbo deisel. I say "yes" there is a difference. Anybody out there with a chipped F350 notice any gains. I told him I would try to find out the significance. Please contribute.

Don't have one, but done a ton of research around buying on in an Excursion. The same things we do apply to the psd.

Less restrictive air flow, better exhaust, add a chip.

I can't quote speicifc numbers, but it was pretty impressive. if you do a search on power stroke diesel you can find many forums where it gets covered.

I don't know specifics for F350's, but i do know that chips for turbodiesels in general work AWESOME. Tell him he needs to get bigger injectors and a bigger fuel pump, then call dennis and get a flip chip with a mild and a wild setting. From what i've heard, over 100 hp can be added with a chip on a turbodiesel. Crank up the boost and shoot some more fuel in. You can get mad increases in torque too. You just have to watch your temps carefully. You don't really want to be towing a big trailer through the mountains with a chip that adds 200 hp, because you'll use the power too much and something will overheat (that't where the mild setting comes in).
