I have a '94 Lightning with a FMS Mass Air conversion, an 80mm meter, 30lb injectors, SC, and other things. And I have a few questions:

1. Is this software compatible with my ECM (AKC0) to where I can make numerous changes such as larger injectors, ignition curve, change shift points, firmness, TQ converter lockup, raise rev limiter, etc.....?

2. Will this software allow me to eliminate the Boost Retard Control I'm running now?

3. Will I still need to get my meter recalibrated for larger injectors or will the software take care of that for me?

4. On a Pro package, will I have the same access to all the functions that another 94 Lightning has that is still running stock Speed Density?

I know these questions have been beat to death, but the ones (like myself) that have done this conversion have had some compatibility issues with other (not all) tuning software. If it's compatible with the above metioned ECM then I'm sold!

TIA,
Matt C.

Also...If i purchase another GEN 1 Lightning later on down the road, would it be easy for me to upgrade the software so I can tune both trucks?

Ditto I have the same truck and same conversion and was wondering about support for this application.

Question number one, YES. It has support for this module.

#2, yes. Not a problem. You can tailor the timing curve to fit whatever your needs are.

#3. Kind of. You will have the full ability to change to any MAF you want, but if you start changing MAF's it's really recommended you strap the car on the dyno and dial in the curve there. I don't know if I answered this or not.

#4. The speed density EEC is very, very different in some ways than the AKC0. For example, the way spark is calculated, while similar in principle, it's get's there by a totally different method. This is Ford's doing, not ours. So, you will have the same functionality in both EEC's, but the values you get to change are different. Did this make sense?

Yes it does...I've learned from other owners and tuners that the Mass air converted trucks have a vicious "tip-in-timing retard" at high loads and low RPM's, and it's been killing our 60' times...i.e...the VEX1 processor's timing can go down to as low as 6-8*, and this is TOTAL timing. Being able to adjust this has been one of the main features that I've been looking at in tuning software. Thanks a ton for answering these questions.

P.S. You forgot to mention how much extra it would be for me to add a second truck if I decided to purchase another one later on down the road?

For a chipped version, since you'll have to go with that with an EEC-IV, it will be around $200...
