Spring Rate Question

Once the Konis are installed, I plan on going with some new springs. I have been looking at the Ford springs that only lower the car about 7/8". Do I go for the sport or super sport springs? Sports have a rating of 425-530 front and 200-250 rear. The super sports are rated at 650 front and 200-300 rear.

The application will be for AutoX and I want to stay FS for now. The Mustang is not my daily driver, but it does get driven frequently and I often use it to travel. Would the SS springs be too stiff? I'm sure one of you has used this combination.

Get AT LEAST the 650lb front springs. Mustangs need a lot of spring in the front to go around corners. The Ford "C" springs are a good compromise, but you may find that you need even more than that if want to be competitive.

I am speaking of the 5300 C springs. I think I will try them and see how they work. Having raced before I know that there is no magical solution. They might work well for me, or I might end up changing them. Dailing in is the name of the game. Thanks.

I ran the C springs on my car when I was opentracking it in 2002. They were great for that, especially because I was driving the car to and from the track. The ride wasn't too bad...I think my problems with that were more in the choice of shocks (I was running QA1s...when I went to Konis, the ride became much nicer).
