Push is understeer.
Cornering basics:
Oversteer (loose) is when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Understeer (push) is when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
:)
Seriously, though, push is when the car won't turn in to a corner, instead just pushes its way to the outside of the turn (or into the wall).
Most cars come designed for understeer, because an average driver will panic and lift when they get in over their head in a turn. In that situation, the car will just drift to the outside, and not spin. Our cars are really bad for understeering, because of the heavy-ass V8s under the hood (front biased cars will almost always understeer).

Something I'd like to add, I'm by no means up to gene or chads experience but the first time I auto-x'd I was surprised that my car pushed so bad!
I've since come to learn that alot of it has to do with the driver.. Turning in to quickly/sharply, Braking hard in a sharp turn....
Several factors....
