I e-mailed you and got no reply so I'm going to ask here.

What kind of gas mileage do you get in the city?

Do you feel the 4.6L would be sufficent for hauling 500lbs stop and go for 26 miles on a daily basis (think rual mail route)? How about the brakes in such a situation?

Any recomendations on options (ones you got you shouldn't have, ones you wish you had, etc)?

My dad needs a new vehicle and I'm trying to talk him into a F-150.

Where did you email me? If it went to my hotmail account, I've had that for years and sometimes the wrong thing ends up in my junkmail by accident. Anyway..to answer your questions...

I'm getting about 13mpg right now (that's with all city driving). I by no means baby the truck at all and it's all city driving. Oil just got changed not too long ago and next oilchange I plan on going to Synthetic (at 3K miles)

500 pounds is no problem...I'm almost 300pounds and the truck often has more than just me in it...so everyday my truck sees 200-300 pounds of extra hauling more than the normal truck would see...I don't see another 200-300 pounds being a problem at all. Brakes should be no problem...they "COULD" be better...but again...brakes can ALWAYS be better...not once have I thought to myself "man..I wish I had better brakes".

On options...I went into the dealer and told him EXACTLY what I want. 2x4, 5.4, towing package, captains chairs, extended/super cab, XLT...and they had it. Only thing that came with the truck that's kinda a waste IMHO (and in my case) is the bed liner because I plan on getting it rhino sprayed anyway.

Overall I LOVE the truck....I've taken 2 kinda long trips with it and it feels great on the highway, seats are very comfy and ride is good for a pickup. It's a great truck and I'd recommend it to anyone else looking for a pickup. I bought the 2x4 cause i have no need for a 4x4 so I can't vouch for anything 4x4 specific.
