Well guys my mods are 4 and 8 cyl fox springs, x2c U/L- C/A, 90/10 drag struts, Front sway bar removed, 3200 PI stall, J Mod shift kit (the cars an auto), 3:73 gear. I have Comp cams, densecharger CAI, Bosch platinum 4 plugs, Mac Lt's with o/r x and magnaflow magnspacks. Here are the results a little dissapointing.
Best run of the nigh
R/t .528
60ft 1.82
330ft 5.399
1/8et 8.331
1/8mph 83.95
1000 10.875
1/4 13.0
Mph 104.41
I'm so close to the twelves i can taste them, i was disappointed a little with the times but i gues i have to be happy witht them so far.
I have the C&L intake plenum on order and what do you guys think if i through in a set of steeda pullies on their also along with a 4:30 gear. How far would i go into the 12's then.

Here comes another 12. Yeah man, get the pullies definately. That would have made the difference. Get the timing adjuster while you are at it.

You're so close to 12's you could take a leak before the pass and get the number!
With 4.30s and pulleys you should have no problem with 12.8-12.9 regularly.

I know the car has 12's in it it's just that i have to manually shift the car because when i leave it in drive it is hitting the rev limiter really bad. Is it better to leave the car in drive when you race at the track or to manually shift.

I found that before a tune it was better to shift my car manually. Now that I have raised the shift points and shift firmness, I drop .1 or more by just leaving it in D.

It's time to get some shit done, dude. That 2/3 shift will never be right unless one of two things happens:
1) Custom program is installed
2) Manual valvebody is installed
The 1/2 shift will work, but the 2/3 shift is still controlled by the computer because you're going from 2 back into "Drive."
This means it's time to get some stuff done. What happens is your gears have altered your rate of accleration to a different rate from stock. With this, your computer tell the car to shift too late. By the time the shift physically happens, the rpm level is beyond where it should be.
Tuning for this can be an absolute biotch. It's not as easy as just assigning a shift point to the computer and having it carried out. Any custom tuner will tell you this. Also, any wheelspin whatsoever will bring this out even more. I was in the midst of dealing with this very issue when my tranny took a dump on me. I just got the new one with a full-manual valvebody to avoid the tuning. But this is only an option for the trully hardcore, as you then must perform each and every shift yourself. I'd go to a qualified tuner and try to get the shift points taken care of.

The thing is that the 2 to 3 shift is fine on the program it's the first to second shift that won;t get off the rev limiter, it was dyno tuned by Jerry at ford chip and when i found that problem out he sent me a chip and said he took care of it but when i installed the chip last nite it still hit off the rev limiter.

silver2k2gt any reason why you are running platnium plugs? Do you plan on going to copper later?
Pulleys will get you into the high 12's, you're right there man.
Nice ET so close to the promise land of 12's even though 11's are going to be the new high standard for some of the seasoned members.

No reason, is the copper better or no, does it really matter what kind of plugs you put in the car.

awsf22c ford motorcraft thoes are 1 heat range colder than stock.
IMO you shoulda taken the seat out like i told ya!!
i was out there with him last night and that car is flyin. send an email to pete at i think its sales@fordchip.com tell him whats going on with the shifting, they will fix it and get you setup. also ask him why there is no light with your flipchip, there should be a light thats green for program x and red for program y and i think yellow for program z not sure why you dont have the led light.
btw, the screw to hold the white bracket that holds the eec into place is pushed into the white foam block in the pass door pocket. youll need it if you decide to put it all back together the 'correct' way, imo ive never put the screw back in, its such a pain in the ass to do.
i found out why i was so much slower last night, the exhaust is killing me, i dynoed it today and lost a little over 30 lbs of torque, but i gained via a spike on the graph 7hp.

Ahhhh, so the damned shift point in-fact does rear is ugly head in round 1 of tuning. Better luck in round 2. I went through about 6 rounds and still wasn't "just right." You essentially have to "fool" your PCM.

I'd say to leave your car in D. Works great for me. That's a killer 60ft too! I've only been able to pull a 1.84 being my best. My last outing to the track was a mear 1.86 but hit my 13.18 ET. Wasn't at race weight and that could have been the difference between the 1.84 & 1.86. All that was before my LT upgrade.
Goodluck on the hunt for 12's!

With a mere 125,000 on it :D I left mine in drive at FFW on one day....the 1-2shift was @6000 and the 2-3 was @5600. I tried to manually shift it from 2-3 @6000 and lost 2tenths everytime. In all actuality if my 1-2 shift were at 5600 I would probably pick up a couple tenths. As for hitting the limiter..never had that problem with my car...it probably doesn't rev as good as yours anymore:scratch:
Yeah you for sure want to get 4:10's at least...good luck!
