yeah, like using the EEC to control the electric fan and stuff like that??

Thats exactly the type of stuff that one would NEVER read over on the other boards...

Obviously I don't have the knowledge/equipment required to do something like this... I have a local tuner with a dyno that does the tuning on my truck, He uses autologic software. (Swanson Performance) Is this something that he could program into the EEC with a little instruction from you guys?

I would really like to NOT pay almost $500 for a electric fan...

I'm surprised to hear the autologic stuff works at all on an 01. I don't really know anything about the autyologic stuff, like whether it has access to all the PCM parameters or not, but I'd bet not. I do know that if the EEC tuner worked on the newer EECs, it would be real easy, just tell it that yes I have a 2 speed fan, the set the on/off temps for both speeds. So it is easy to do, as long as you have hardware/software that can do it.
