I embarked this weekend on installing my Vortech. Well, as of now I've put about 14 hours on the install. But, that includes taking off my underdrive pulleys and timing adjuster. Also, swapping pulley off the blower and getting some damn AN fitting off the head unit. I had to tear the thing apart to get enough room to unscrew it. And even then I had to use Vise Grips. Those few items took me probably about 2-3 hours.
That tapping of the pan took a little longer than expected too. Mainly because I didn't have the right size punches around the house. Luckily, some guys as my work found some tapered punches that fit my size. So nervously I preceted to slam em in. All went well expect I noticed they were a little crooked. Oops...the tap went in and I didn't feel too comfortable doing it cause I didn't have a T-handle, I had to use a socket wrench. :nono: But, I think in the end it is working cause I screwed my adapter fitting in and it got pretty snug.
As of now, the car sits waiting to start my intake/powerpipe assembly and then the discharge tube and leaving the fuel pump for last. I'm almost there!
My biggest problem came from the line lock I had just installed days prior. I didn't give it much thought but Tim Lynch's directions for installing the line lock place it right where the bracket and AC silencer line will be!! So, I have currently taken the line lock off and just put the old factory MC1 plug back in. I'll have to mount it in a different place next time. Its no big deal, i didn't have to think about doing it for more than 2 seconds.....hmmm, do I want the line lock hooked up, or do I want the blower....:Clue:
Gotta get back at it tomorrow and I should be able to finish it up and get my gauges put in as well. Busy weekend, I bet my girlfriend is pissed, I haven't even gotten to see her I've been so busy!
Off to bed...
