They posted some info on the MIR website about the upcoming Ford Classic. Just figured I'd post it here since I haven't seen any talk about it lately. I don't think that my car will be ready for the race:( but I'll probably be there with Lloyd(slosvt). So who's going???

Clicky here for info (http://www.mirdrag.com/ford/index.html)

yeah, Barb and I will be there, gunning for that 11 sec time slip.
Mod motor class is a D/R only class so that leaves me to run "mild street" but in order todo that I have to remove my Meziere water pump, no brainer there.

Yeah, I wouldn't fit great in any of those heads up classes. I would consider running in one of the bracket classes so that I could make some passes. I also noticed that it said if you don't qualify for the heads up class that you enter, then you're allowed to run in the brackets.

I'll likely see ya there Randy!

I have your number Randy. We will call you Friday to let you know what the plans are. My phone doesnt get a very good signal at the track, so it would be best if we knew what we were going to do before hand. :)

Are they having a bracket class? I didnt see it on the webpage. Any idea what the stock heads up class guys run? I think I might fit in that one.

madmike

Yes, there will be three different bracket classes. Take a look at the event flyer at the link above and you'll see it.

Stupid question but I would run stock class right? Guess Billy would run Mod shootout? I have never even run on a .400 tree, I know I will do great at that...I am a little intimidated being there will be thousands of people and all...Theo:confused:

madmike
10-06-2003, 06:50 PM
Theo, it looks like Stock will be the class for you... IF you want to run heads up. Only the 16 quickest cars will make it to elims.

You could run one of the bracket classes there since you have an auto and I'm sure the car is real consistent. Take a look at the event flyer at the top of the page I linked.

There is a note on there about if you don't qualify for elims in the heads up class that you enter, you are allowed to run in the bracket class. That may be something to consider.

Billy could run in the Modular Shootout class, yes. Now this is assuming that both of you guys run on some DOT radials(Nittos or BFGs.)

So if you have a tubular kmember then you cant run. Am I seeing that right????

madmike
10-06-2003, 11:35 PM
I was wondering about that too Stefan. Although I won't have anything to worry about, I wonder for other's sake.

Stefan Breuer
10-06-2003, 11:36 PM
yea no shit. Hate to go have my kmember on and then get booted for it.

10-06-2003, 11:41 PM
Thanks for the info Mike, I was making sure I was reading that right and you are partially right my car use to be consistant I am having a little more trouble now...Can drag radials be bauld and still qualify mine are pretty thin right now...j/j

I dont think I could make the top sixteen cars even if there was only 15 cars...Theo

Billy and I were just reading the the mod shootout and it states 8 rib belt, He has the stock 6...WTF...he doesnt want to go and not be able to run...what do you think? Theo

madmike
10-13-2003, 10:23 AM
Theo, I'm sure they're saying that the max you can have is an 8-rib setup. No cog drives. Billy will be fine.

Nastystage2
10-13-2003, 03:42 PM
slosvt, i talked to someone today that said you were allowed that have the tubular front end, and TOYGT02- you can have the 6 rib pulleys, thats what i have also, i had to make sure! but we will have to wait and see what slosvt says just in case this person was wrong!

RandyStinchcomb

one other note: ther Tech (was) for the shoot-out classes, very easy. never checked me off for tubular "k" & 28x10" slicks, just checked to see if I had a P/A(hidden) and saftey equip.

question about the modular class, it says stock tranny, does that mean no C4? cause that is a stock tranny from a fox body car! anyone answer ASAP, thanks
well good luck this time randy, i am sure i will be there to see you guys run!

Stefan Breuer
10-14-2003, 10:50 PM
Hey Danny dont sweat it man.... Just dont say anything... They are not going to tear your car apart to see what tranny your running. Hell I am running a TKO that i got from someone....... Dont think anyone is going to say anything...

slosvt
10-14-2003, 11:27 PM
Im not sure if the C4 will fly or not. If tech doesnt catch it then maybe one of the other racers in your class may say something. Its going to depend on how they want to be.

You can still run if you dont run Modular. Just make some passes for bracket racing or something. The weather should be great!

See you Maryland guys on Saturday. :)

Nastystage2
10-14-2003, 11:28 PM
you got a TKO, who did you get that from? :)
well if i find out between now and friday that you have to have a stock tranny i will put a automatic from a 01 thats in the shop and run it with that!
