My brother's Mustang....

Here's a neat effect on my brother's 68 Stang. He's got quite a bit into it, and it's a shame I don't have a decent pic of it in color, standing still. Anyway.

Looks interesting. It looks like an SCCA car, or a modified Shelby with that side scoop. Black? Dark Green? Maroon? Navy?

It's a stock, basically stripped, 68. The only option it had was the V8. It now has a shelby front valence to improve air flow and those side scoops. The car was hit in the side in a parking lot, and my brother was afriad they would never be able to rebuild that body area, so he went to scoops to mask the damage. As it was, they spent 18 months straightening the body and it wouldn't have mattered.

He has a lot of mods to in including a lot of suspension work, chassis bracing, etc. It also has two new motors under construction - a late model 5.0 with roller cam and a 351 cleveland built to the ragged edge of reliabilty.

It's got a Honda Green color on it from a 99 Civic. It's the "alternate" color in that green.

always liked that style. wasn't that similar to Steve McQueen's car in the movie, damn, it's on the tip of my tongue.........with the great SF chase scene...oh, it's, it's, ........it's NOT the "Great Escape - that had motorcycle chase "......it's.....&lt;see what what what happens after 40 haha&gt;.....

anyway it was a green 'stang, think it had side scoops, and numerous dings from the business end of 12ga.

351 is nice eng. they scream!!

Yep, bullit! Great movie.

As I understand it there actually were two different mustangs used, and if you look hard enough you can tell which one is which.

In one scene in the movie, they crash one by running wide in a corner and off the road. Destroyed the driver front suspension. You can hear the screech of brakes and tires in the movie if you know where to listen....

They practiced the chase scenes for the movie at Cotati Raceway, which was about a half a mile from where I live now. Now it is called Rohnert Park Expressway and there is a movie theater there <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emsad.gif" BORDER="0"> instead of a racetrack....
