I wanted to take the time and give you all an update on the car, I have spent three years and more money than to care to think about on my dream. Three motors and Transmissions countless man hours. I took the car to people who were supposedly the best in the business or at least had solid back grounds, I have found out the hard way that they were incompetent and ignorant costing me tens of thousands of dollars.
No matter how much you spend or the quality of parts it is worth nothing, without tuning. I just got back from a little town in Ohio close to Cleveland, that is a twenty hour drive from Jacksonville Florida, I drove in the worst rain storm I have seen in years, almost got creamed by a tanker truck who was trying to miss a lounge chair that blew off a pickup truck in front of him, talking about soiled underwear. I met Mike from Powerhouse and I met Todd = turbotta. I drove about 2300 miles to Meet Jerry. I have worked on cars all my life I have NEVER met any one as knowledgeable about Ford's as him. He is impeccable a total professional and a joy to watch. I could see the gleam shine what ever you can say, that he totally enjoys what he is doing and has unwavering confidence in his ability to custom tune cars. Before trailering my car there on his advice I upgraded the car to 42 pound injectors and # 6 and 8 fuel lines, I have Intank 255 Walbro and a Trex, I tool it out. With in couple of hours Jerry turned all my years of frustration in to pure joy, the car runs PERFECT I gained 30 HP by just rotating the mass air 180 degrees, just under 450 RWHP, I want 500 guess what I ran out of blower, I am using a 15 pound S Trim so the car is set up with a perfect air to Fuel ratio, just the right timing with my air to air inner cooler the car was unbelievably cool Jerry was impressed. Tomorrow I am going to a smaller pulley to see if this will get me there, if not I will go to a T. Trim and this will put me there. I mean every thing is right Jerry fixed my fans to come on at 185 with the cars VCRM = variable control relay module he fixed the transmission shift points, the car destroys the tires in first and second. He did all this by reflashing the ECM NO CHIP. You can do this on 96 and up, if it is older he can do it with a chip. Now I am totally happy with my result, I am proud of my car, I have met new friends met someone I admire and respect.
Todd's car did not Dyno that well, I told him don't be disappointed, he has a beautiful car, and if I was to do this all over I would use the 97 LSC the car has more room upfront than the 1996 and you do not have to use the Cobra intake.
Mike from Powerhouse installed a Vortech with water inner cooler on a 1993 and it looked totally clean with a fiberglass pipe he made, so it can be done on the earlier models as well.
Now I am sure there may be some out there that will say the car should make more, I have no idea what I will do at the track there may be some who say it should be faster in the qtr, I personally do not care what they say I am totally happy the car has NEVER ran better, it is AWESOME.
