I've got a couple of mods in mind so would like to get a couple of quotes.

1. Cams: probably will go with the Comp 270's so would need valve springs, just for fun how much for the 268's, want to compare cost vs gains

2. gears: looking to put 3.73's in as well sometime

This would be for a 2003 GT.

I'll work up some numbers and get the low-down on your cost vs gains. What mods are you currently running?

Currently I only have a Flowmaster catback and MAC CAI.

Wolvrin,

Bad news, you can't use the Comp 270s on your stock bottom end because the valves will hit the pistons. If you really wanted to use the 270s I could quote you a new short block. :jester:

PM me your e-mail address and I will send you a detailed quote of the cams, springs, and install price

Well I've since rethought it and with my car being a DD and needing to retain some good manners I think I'll be looking at the XE262AH. I've been told these don't need the valve springs changed but I don't know for sure. I'll PM you my email addy.

Wolvrin704,

Had these cams(XE262AH) put in by Modular Depot.... in my old 01GT with heads from FoxLake Racing... GREAT driveability, good midrange/top end power.. great idle..

this is not true , yes they will fit , not strait up though , they must be degreed

I am running them with flat tops too.

No difference between flats and dished is there? Valves would hit the edge of the piston as I understand it but have not had the experience myself :) I believe VT/Cushman's can be used if degreed and they have lift around .570".

I'll certainly take your word Bigdog! Not something I wish to experience. The duration must be the reason for the Comps needing degreeing for sure. Those are decent size cams for the street IMHO anyways!
You must be running about an 11.2:1 compression? How much timing with that set-up? THX

I take the hijacking rap. You provided accurate, proven info BigDog, I am inmterested in the amount of compression a NA modular car handle on pump.
