How do you disconect the filler neck from the tank? does the neck come out with the tank? it looks to me like you need to disconnect the filler tube from the tank. does anyone have some pics of the process of dropping the tank? Thanks in advance.

the filler neck just slides into the tank and has a rubber coupler that holds it into place...are you removing the entire tank or just dropping in a pump??

you dont need to remove the tank to install the pump..you can just lower it down to one side(drivers side) onto a jack far enough down so you can remove the stock basket and remove the pump and drop the new one in...just make sure you have very little gas in the tank and disconnect the fuel filter...

I took out the three small, I think 10mm screws out around the gas cap it made it a lot easier to get the tank down...

Its a little easer to just drop the whole tank. You would just need to buy a tool to remove the filter. You could get them at any auto shop store.

The fuel filter should be changed anyways...

Agree you should replace the filter.
This is the tool you could use to remove the fuel line:

You could use that or there are plastic ones, it dosent really matter.
