trac control

so i have a 05 gt and was talking with this guy the other day about the trac control on these cars, and he was sayin that when racin with the trac ON, it is like taking 20-25 hp out of the motor. i told him he was full of it, but just wandering if anyone can verify this or is this BS?

well the system is effective at what it is supposed to do. When you have peel-age the system shuts down the fuel injectors. Thats why you feel that bog down feeling when the Traction Control activites. Yes, fuel injectors shutting down will make you loose horsepower, to answer your question.

Now if your asking if while your mobile and no tire spin is present, then I don't believe your loosing any power wether its on or off. It's just a matter of the launch and if your tires break in the remaining gears.
